Steam Free Download: Offers an Unexpectedly "Relaxing" Experience
A newly released free demo on Steam has been praised by players for its “relaxing” vibe—and it’s well worth a look for anyone seeking low-stress gameplay.
While Steam Next Fest has wrapped up, some publishers are still making demos of their upcoming titles available on the platform, letting players try out games at no cost.
These free demos often turn out to be the best way to discover your next must-buy game. Getting a small, free taste of a title lets you quickly gauge whether it aligns with your preferences, taking the guesswork out of future purchases.

One such upcoming game is Bus Bound from stillalive studios, which originally launched its demo for Steam Next Fest. Even though the event has ended, the demo remains accessible on Steam for all users to play.
Developed by the team behind the Bus Simulator series, Bus Bound is a driving simulation game. True to its premise, players take on the role of a bus driver navigating a city—picking up passengers and ensuring they stop at every designated location along their route.
The game is set in Emberville, a fictional city described as “a fully simulated, heavily populated town with active traffic systems, a dynamic day-night cycle, and varied weather conditions. From busy intersections to peaceful neighborhoods, each area has its own unique pace, and your route choices help influence the city’s future development.”
Beyond just driving through Emberville, players can actively shape the city’s growth. This includes upgrading bus stops, unlocking new routes, and watching as each district evolves based on their in-game progress.
For players who enjoy group fun, Bus Bound also includes co-op mode for up to four people. In this mode, each player takes on their own route while working together to contribute to a shared objective.

How are players reacting to the demo?
The Bus Bound demo has earned positive feedback from those who’ve tried it. At the time of writing, it holds an 81% positive review rating on its Steam store page.
One player’s review calls the Bus Bound demo a “relaxing ride that’s worth taking”—echoing the game’s standout appeal.
Another review notes, “It feels like a step up from their previous game. Everything is simpler and more detailed, which is a great quality-of-life improvement. It definitely reminds me more of their 2018 title, which I personally prefer over the 2021 one.”
A third review highlights the game’s mechanics: “I have to say, they’ve made the gameplay engaging. For starters, the driving feels smooth—already better than some other car simulation games. What’s more, following street signs and driving rules actually matters: passengers will give you a lower rating if you break them, and that affects your ability to upgrade the map, which in turn impacts the buses you can unlock. That’s always been a frustration for me in other sims, where running a red light just gets you a ‘don’t do that’ message with no real consequences.”
All in all, the Bus Bound demo is clearly resonating with players. While a release date for the full game hasn’t been confirmed yet, publisher Saber Interactive expects it to launch sometime in 2026.
